Mosquée de Changsha

Changsha Mosque is the headquarter of Islamic Association in Hunan province. Changsha Mosque was firstly built by businessmen from both Henan and Shaanxi provinces in 1711 in the Qing dynasty. Before it was destroyed in a fire in 1938, the mosque was built in a traditional Chinese temple structure. Since reconstruction after the fire, Changsha Mosque had been a major mosque for Muslim in Changsha to hold Muslim activities and do prayers. The mosque was removed to Baisha Ancient Well area and rebuilt by the government in 1985. Therefore the Changsha Mosque we see today is relatively new with its Arabic architectural style.
