Introducing Black Dragon Pool
Located in the forests of the Longquan Mountains north of Kunming, the Black Dragon Pool Park is the biggest Taoist abode in Kunming and is home to the largest sacred Taoist Temple in Central Yunnan with well preserved halls and mansions. Legend has it that a black dragon lived in the pool in the Black Dragon Pool Park.

What to expect at Black Dragon Pool
The park, the Black Dragon Pool and the unique structures within have their origins in the Tang Dynasty and were substantially developed during the Ming Dynasty by the then Governor of Yunnan Mu Ying and over the centuries has been further developed. La Piscine du Dragon Noir est en réalité composée de deux bassins reliés par un pont à l'endroit où ils se rencontrent. Alimentés par des sources souterraines, L'eau dans le grand bassin profond du Dragon Noir est visiblement plus claire que celle du plus petit bassin et, étonnamment, les poissons d'un bassin ne passent pas dans l'autre.
Dans le parc se trouvent deux pruniers plantés pendant la dynastie Tang qui fleurissent encore, bien que les troncs se soient fanés il y a près d'un siècle, À côté, il y a deux cyprès plantés pendant la dynastie Song. Il y a aussi un sapin planté sous la dynastie Yuan et un camélia de la dynastie Ming qui sont évidemment les quatre merveilles du parc en dehors du bassin. L’un des plus grands festivals de fleurs de prunier de Chine a lieu dans le parc chaque hiver.

• En bus: prendre le bus n°. 9, 79 ou 128 and get off at Heilongtan Station.
• Rent a car/bus from GGC to enjoy a hassle free private transfer from hotels in Kunming to Black Dragon Pool.
Additional travel advice on Black Dragon Pool
• Please wear comfortable walking shoes as the park is large.
