Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your Kunming hotel at around 9:00 AM. Relax in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle as you enjoy the scenic 2-hour drive to Dongchuan (environ. 150 km). Upon arriving in Dongchuan, explore Shuipingzi, a breathtaking landscape characterized by endless layers of rice terraces that stretch as far as the eye can see. Au printemps, capture the picturesque irrigation scenes of the paddy fields, while autumn offers the opportunity to photograph the golden hues of the harvest. Discover the revered Thousand-Year-Old Divine Tree, considered sacred by locals. Get up early to capture the breathtaking sunrise at Damakan, the best site to see a sunrise. Continue your exploration at Jinxiu Garden (Beautiful Garden) , a vast expanse of rolling red hills. Ensuite, head to Qicaipo (Seven Color Slope), where you can photograph the vibrant hues of Dongchuan’s red earth. Visit Yuepuao (Musical Notation Concave) and Wafang Liangzi (Tiled House Bridge) to capture panoramic views of Yuepuao and the surrounding village. Along the way back to Kunming, take the opportunity to photograph the picturesque and peaceful village of Beihe, nestled against a backdrop of red fields.
