Introducing Yunnan Provincial Museum
With an area of 60,000 metrekare, Yunnan Provincial Museum is the largest comprehensive museum in Yunnan. It has rich collections of more than 200,000 pieces culture relics, including bronze ware, ancient coins, seramikler, resimler, stone steles, various handicrafts. As an important window open to the outside world and a spiritual home of all ethnic groups in Yunnan, is now playing an important role in publicizing the outstanding Chinese cultural heritage and promoting the national unity.

What to expect at Yunnan Provincial Museum

The Yunnan Nationalities Museum, adhering to the core value of museum education and the tenet of serving the general public and building China into a strong nation of socialist culture, has attracted more than 6 million visitors with various exhibitions, extracurricular activities for high school students, thematic lectures, community-based family education sessions, school-museum and inter-museum cooperation, construction of patriotism and popular science bases, public services, thematic education programmers, volunteer team building efforts and museum membership since its establishment.

The Yunnan Provincial Museum houses an important collection of early bronzes (Warring States through Western Han period) that were excavated from royal burials at Shizhai Shan and other locations in the vicinity of Lake Dian. This part of Yunnan, whose people and language were not originally Han Chinese, had been ruled by an independent Dian kingdom from about 500 MÖ; bronzes from this period through middle Western Han (yaklaşık 100 MÖ) are unique to the region, ve Güneydoğu Asya'nın bronz eserleriyle birçok ortak özelliği vardır.
