Visit Panmen Gate
Panmen Kapısı, a historic landmark with over 2,400 years of history, stands as a testament to Suzhou’s ancient fortifications. Initially built to defend the city’s moat, it uniquely features both land and water entrances. While the current structure dates back to the Yuan Dynasty, its foundations are much older. The gate is part of a larger complex that includes Wumen Bridge, once Suzhou’s tallest, and Ruiguang Pagoda, the city’s first pagoda.
