What to expect at Green Lake Park

As one of Kunming’s best parks, Green Lake Park’s banks are lined with ancient weeping willow trees, well established flower gardens and elegant pavilions both large and small.

Once part of the Dianchi Lake, with the decline of the water levels in the lake, it was developed over time into an independent park some of whose magnificent Pavilions and Towers date back to the Ming Dynasty and is known now as the Green Lake. The pavilions are in the classic style and are notable for their carved beams, painted rafters, glazed tiles and elegant eaves. This is a popular destination for the locals and tourists. In winter months, black-headed gulls migrate to the park living in harmony with people.
