Lianhuashan Park is a hill and urban park in Shenzhen, China, inaugurated in 1997. It is located at the northern end of the Futian Central Business District and covers an area of 150 hectares (370 acres). It is within walking distance from Children’s Palace Station of the Shenzhen Metro. It is a popular resort in the city with enchanting landscape and refreshing environment. Lianhuashan Park is neither grand nor steep, with a height of only 106 meters. Nevertheless, it enables the visitors to enjoy the pleasure of climbing while stay from the tiredness of heights. Main attractions of the park are Adventure Playground, Fishing, Kite Square and Guanshanyue Art Gallery.

What to expect at Lianhuashan Park

• Statue of Deng Xiaoping
A 6-meter-high statue of former Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping stands on a hilltop at the center of the park and dominates the monumental perspective of Futian, marking the northern end of an axial composition that evokes urban design patterns of Imperial China. The statue shows Deng walking briskly, a reference to his words that “The step of reform and opening-up should be bigger.” On its pedestal is a calligraphy by Deng’s successor Jiang Zemin.

• Kite Square
The large grass land in the park is an ideal place for kite flying, especially for kids. You can lie on the grass here, watching the sky and being in a daze.

• Peach Grove
In spring every year, there are more than 2,000 strains of peach blooming in the park, which attracts numerous local people and outside visitors to take pictures.

How to get to Lianhuashan Park
• Take Metro Line 3 or 4 to Shaoniangong Station.
• Take bus 10, 41, 215, M105, M183 and get off at Zhongxinsheng North Station.
• Take bus 111, M173, M262, M555 and get off at Shaoniangong Station.
