Day 1 Arrival in Chengdu, Greet & Meet at Airport, Transfer to hotel

Destination: Chengdu
Accommodations: Chengdu Yinhe Dynasty Hotel or similar

Your AirAsia flight will arrive at Chengdu Airport at 22:40. You will be greeted by IslamiChina Travel professional driver and transferred to hotel in Chengdu.

Day 2 Mount Qingcheng, Dujiangyan Irrigation System

Destination: Chengdu
Meals included: Breakfast at hotel, lunch & dinner at Halal restaurants
Accommodations: Holiday Inn Express Dujiangyan Ancient City or similar

Transferred to Mount Qingcheng (90 minutes) in the morning. Mount Qingcheng is one of the most famous Taoist mountains in China. The mountain, which is surrounded by numerous peaks is dubbed ‘the most peaceful and secluded mountain under heaven’ and combines perfectly with its evergreen scenery. Vist Dujiangyan Irrigation System in the afternoon. Built in 256 BC, this grand irrigation project has played a crucial role in flood prevention and irrigation for over 2,000 years and it is known as one of the great hydraulic engineering projects of ancient China. Originally constructed around 256 BC by the State of Qin as an irrigation and flood control project, the system harnessed Minjiang River using a new method of channeling and dividing the river rather than simply damming it. The water management scheme is still in use today to irrigate over 5,300 square kilometres of land in the region. After the system was finished, no more floods occurred in Chengdu plain of Sichuan province. The irrigation made Sichuan province the most productive agricultural region in China.  

Day 3 Dujiangyan Panda Base, Panda Keeper Volunteer Program

Destination: Chengdu
Meals included: Breakfast at hotel, lunch & dinner at Halal restaurants
Accommodations: Chengdu Yinhe Dynasty Hotel or similar

Transferred to Dujiangyan Panda Base after breakfast at hotel. After registration at the panda base, a professional English speaking keeper will guide you during this one day panda keeper volunteer program which includes cleaning the enclosure, weighing and cleaning bamboo, making panda cakes, feeding the pandas and watching a panda movie. A simple Chinese lunch is included and served at the staff’s canteen of Dujiangyan Panda Base. At the end of the program you will get Panda Volunteer Certificate granted by the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Foundation. The volunteer work ends here and say goodbye to the pandas that you have taken care of. Your guide and driver will escort you back to your hotel in Chengdu (90 minutes).

Day 4 Leshan Giant Buddha, Huangcheng Mosque, Wuhou Temple, Jinli Ancient Street, Transfer to Chengdu Airport for AirAsia Flight Departing at 23:55

Morning visit to Leshan Giant Buddha. Carved into the side of Mt. Lingyun, the colossal statue of Leshan Giant Buddha is over 1,300-years-old and is considered to be the largest stone Buddha in the world, and by far the tallest pre-modern statue. In 1996, the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO inscribed the Leshan Giant Buddha on their World Heritage List as a mixed cultural and natural property of the world. After pray at Huangcheng Mosque, visit Wuhou Temple in the afternoon. Wuhou Temple, also called Wuhou Shrine or Wuhou Memorial Temple, is an ancestral temple in memory of Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei and other heroes in the state of Shu during the Three Kingdoms period when Chengdu was the capital of the state of Shu. Afterwards, walk along the Jinli Ancient Street. Roaming on the 550 meters long Jinli Ancient Street that is said to have been bustling since Qin Dynasty, you can admire the charming old buildings and find diverse shops selling interesting ancient handicrafts.
