Day 2 Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Huangcheng Mosque, Wuhou Temple, Jinli Ancient Street

After breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (40 minutes). Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, or simply Chengdu Panda Base, is a non-profit research and breeding facility for giant pandas and other rare animals founded in 1987. Here you can find rivers, lakes, brooks, ornamental green lawns and greens, wild bamboo forests which form the panda’s natural ecological environment. You can closely observe the giant pandas of different ages resting, eating and drinking, playing with each other, using enrichment toys, or watch female pandas nursing their cubs in the nursery rooms. After pray at Huangcheng Mosque, visit Wuhou Temple in the afternoon. Wuhou Temple, also called Wuhou Shrine or Wuhou Memorial Temple, is an ancestral temple in memory of Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei and other heroes in the state of Shu during the Three Kingdoms period when Chengdu was the capital of the state of Shu. Afterwards, walk along the Jinli Ancient Street. Roaming on the 550 meters long Jinli Ancient Street that is said to have been bustling since Qin Dynasty, you can admire the charming old buildings and find diverse shops selling interesting ancient handicrafts.

Day 3 Leshan Giant Buddha, Drive to Mount Emei, Baoguo Temple

Morning visit to Leshan Giant Buddha. Carved into the side of Mt. Lingyun, the colossal statue of Leshan Giant Buddha is over 1,300-years-old and is considered to be the largest stone Buddha in the world, and by far the tallest pre-modern statue. In 1996, the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO inscribed the Leshan Giant Buddha on their World Heritage List as a mixed cultural and natural property of the world. Drive to Mt. Emei in the afternoon. Mt. Emei is one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China. Upon arrival visit Baoguo Temple which mainly enshrines Buddhist deities as well as deities of both Confucian and Taoism, which makes rarely seen temple temple of three religious. the Mahavira Hall of this temple is one of the best preserved wooden-structure buildings in the region of south of the Yangtze River.

Day 4 Mount Emei, Drive to Chengdu

Destination: Mount Emei & Chengdu

Your Mount Emei trip begins with riding the sightseeing bus (2 hours) to Ledongping station, then hike to Jieyin Hall (1 hour) where you will take a cable car up to the Golden Summit (altitude: 3077 m) of Mount Emei. The world’s highest gold statue of Samantabhadra Buddha sits in the Huazang Temple in the center of the summit, and the largest metallic building complex is located there, too. At the highest peak of the mountain, you will be amazed by the awe-inspiring view of Huazang Temple and witness the breathtaking sea of clouds. Then, go down to Wannian Temple parking lot by car. Take a cable car up to Wannian Temple at the middle of the mountain. Appreciate the most beautiful landscape of Mt. Emei in Qingyin Pavilion as you will hike from Wannian Temple to Wuxiangang parking lot. Afterwards, drive back to your hotel in Chengdu (2 hours & 30 minutes).

Day 5 Departure from Chengdu
