Tour begins at Tian’anmen Square, the largest city square in the world. From the square, we will view the Gate of Heavenly Peace (Tiananmen) where Chairman Mao Zedong proudly claimed the establishment of the People’s Republic of China on Oct 01, 1949; Monument to the People’s Heroes, Great Hall of the People, and Mao’s Mausoleum. Then it’s on to the Forbidden City, now known as the Imperial Palace Museum. The Forbidden City used to home for 24 Chinese Ming and Qing Dynasty emperors. The last emperor, Puyi lived in the Forbidden City till 1924. After a nice Halal lunch at local restaurant, we will visit the Great Wall of China. In 220 B.C., under Qin Shihuang, the first emperor of China, sections of earlier fortifications were joined together to form a united defense system against invasions from the north. Construction of the great wall continued up to the Ming dynasty (1368–1644), when the Great Wall became the world’s largest military structure. Its historic and strategic importance is matched only by its architectural significance. It’s a busy day, but will also include a visit to Jade Carving Factory for a shopping experience not to be missed.
