Introducing Fairy Lake Botanical Garden
Founded in 1983 and opened in 1988, covers an area of 5,880,000 square kilometers, Fairy Lake Botanical Garden is 13.8 km from the center of the city. It is laid out on the hills in southeast of Shenzhen. To its east is the Wutong Mountain, Shenzhen Reservoir is in the west of the garden. The garden has been ranked as a National 4-A Level Scenic Spot since 2007. And it also has been a National Park since 2008.

What to expect at Fairy Lake Botanical Garden

Fairy Lake Botanical Garden is one of the important base for botanical scientific research in China, and a multifunction garden including plant collecting and researching, scientific knowledge spreading, tourism and leisure. It is home to approximately 8000 species of plants since 2012 and most of them have been planted on the hills. There are 21 plant gardens, including a Cycas conservation center, palm garden and various other themed gardens. The whole garden is divided into six sights, include Tianshang Renjian Resort, Lake Resort, Temple Resort, Desert Plant Resort, Fossil Resort, Pine and Cypress resort.

Fairylake Botanical Garden is divided into six scenic areas, including the Heaven & Earth Area, the Fairylake Area, the Hongfa Temple Area, the Desert Plant Area, the Fossil Forest Area and the Conifers Azalea Area. The Fairylake, also known as Lake Xian, is a man-made lake with bridges, pagodas and halls all over the area. Hongfa Temple, located at the foot of Wutong Mountain, was built in 1985. As one of the centers researching and carrying forward Buddhist culture, this temple attracts thousands of tourists and devotees each year.

How to get to Fairy Lake Botanical Garden
• Take bus 202, 220, M182 or M526 to Xianhu Zhiwuyuan Zongzhan. Then walk around 1.5 km to the garden.
• Rent a car/bus from GGC to enjoy a hassle free private transfer from hotels in Shenzhen to Fairy Lake Botanical Garden.

• Prepare some food and drinkable water.
• The admission to Hongfa Temple is free. Joss sticks are provided at the entrance for free.
