2010 Great Wall Trekking Tour

Communication with IslamiChina.com sales representative:
Excellent. I probably sent nearly 1000 emails and all emails were replied to in a timely manner.

Whilst out there Johan was really helpful explaining things to me and also translating a few things with the locals.

Very impressed with how Johan and Grace were able to understand my specific requirements so clearly especially as English is their second language.

Tour guide:
Michael Li was brilliant. He was very accommodated with our religious requirements and did a great job taking us around the wall. His English is also very good. In some occasions it felt like our tour guide was part of the trekking team.

Hotels:
Our Beijing hotel was really nice. The staff was really friendly and they served really nice breakfast. Some of my friends found the beds a bit hard. The location of the hotel isn't the best but it didn't matter too much to us as we only had 2 nights there.

The hotels that we stayed in whilst on the trek exceeded my expectations, I was expecting something basic.
The Jinslink Hotel was really nice and traditional. It reminded us all of our stay in Yangshou.

Coach:
Good size for our group. The driver did a good job driving it too.

Meals:
Food was my biggest worry in china but we were so amazed to find so many nice halal outlets. Our tour guide took us to a nice restaurant. I was really impressed with the fact that halal food was arranged in our hotels whilst doing the trek as I didn't expect this.

Writing this up is really making me miss China.

I hope all your family are safe as I just heard about the earthquake in south west china.

Classic Beijing Muslim Tour + Half Day Beijing Tour

Our experience was amazing! We love Beijing! Thank you to the tour guide, Laura and the driver for bringing us around. Everything was excellent! The food served at the restaurants were great too. I was happy to get a taste of authentic Halal chinese food! No negative comments from me.

Tailor-made Beijing Yinchuan Xian Shanghai Tour

Your overall review on the trip:
We really enjoyed our trip to China and would like to thank IslamiChina for contributing to the success of the trip.  The tour was tailor-made to suite our needs, and the staff went out of their way to accomodate us.  We are very happy that we chose IslamiChina to co-ordinate our first, but certainly not last (inshaAllah), trip to China.  Some of the highlights included climbing the Great Wall, and interacting with the Muslim community in Yinchuan, and especially spending time at the Islamic college there, meeting the students and teachers.

Your communication with IslamiChina.com sales representative:
We mainly corresponded with Grace, who was always very prompt and helpful.  She would often reply the same day, and we were very pleased with her effeciency.

Your tour guide:
We were most impressed by our tour guides Jessica (in Xi'an) and Jennifer (in Beijing).  Jessica was the sweetest and friendliest person, with a wealth of knowledge and information.  Both she and Jennifer were very accomodating and kind.  We will remember them fondly.

Your hotel:
The Hotel in Xi'an (New World Hotel) was the best as far as the room, the service and the facilities and breakfast.  The hotel in Beijing can also be recommended.  We were less satisfied with the hotels in Yinchuan (they served a chinese breakfast, with very little on offer for us to eat/drink) and Shanghai (we were glad we only spent one night there).

Your coach:
By far the best coach was in Xi'an, and the best driver Mr Ma.  Although, mashaAllah, the transportation in all four cities was good.

Meals:
For most part the meals were great, especially at the local restaurants in Yinchuan and in the Muslim district of Xi'an.

Aspects that we need to improve:
Our only recommendation is that in Beijing, the tour be structured in a way that allows the guests to visit a mosque around lunch time, or to eat at a restaurant that has prayer facilities (like the one near the Great Wall, which is wonderful), to make it easier for them to pray on time.

Beijing Muslim Tour 5 Days + 2 Nights Extension

Your overall review on the trip: The trip was outstanding, very rich in history. We had an amazing time.
Your communication with IslamiChina.com sales representative: Our communication with Islamichina.com was very prompt.
Your tour guide: Our tour guide, Helen, was amazing, very flexible and knowledgeable.
Your hotel: The hotel was very nice, a bit below a 5 star rating. However, the staff was very nice and the service, especially the restaurant was very nice.
Your coach: It was very accommodating have our own coach, the driver was very patient and knew his way around very well.
Meals: Quantity was fine; however quality could have been better.
Aspects that we need to improve: One aspect that could be improved is the food. Improving this aspect Islamichina can have a true five star service.

Guilin Muslim Tour 4 Days

Overall, we are very happy and satisfied with the trip. It would be great if we can have halal buffet spread for breakfast, but I guess this would not be possible.

Hotel Fortune - very spacious.
Jasper International Yangshuo - new
Hotel Osmanthus - good location, ok for the price. Breakfast served in Chinese Restaurant, as such not suitable for us. No bread, coffee and other buffet options. Cannot change to Western Breakfast which would be more suitable for us.
 
Your coach: The van is a bit old, driver was pleasant and accommodative.
Meals: Muslim restaurants was good.

Historic Beijing Muslim Tour

I had a most memorable tour of Beijing and the Great Wall recently. I had a personal guide with me all the way who spoke excellent English, had an excellent knowledge of all the sites we visited and more importantly had a local perspective. It gave me a real down to earth experience of what it would have been like to experience these places as a Chinese living here. I sprained my ankle early during our walk from Simatai to Jingshaling but with the help of Johan and some locals I made it to the end of our 10km walk. It is an experience I will truly remember for many years to come! Thank you to IslamiChina for all the arrangements and transportation which was very smooth and without any fuss. Having access to mosques and Halal food also made it hassle free for a Muslim traveling in a new country. I would definitely recommend these tours to anyone keen on a seeing as much of Beijing in a relatively short space of time.

4 Days Shanghai Muslim Tour

We all returned with very good memories of China. I shall now give you my views about our trip:

Communication with IslamiChina representatives-
These were excellent both with you Grace and with Johan. All our queries were answered promptly and all our requests were handled as per our wishes.

The tour guide- Mr Tang was an exceptionally good tour guide. A cultured  and most knowledgeable person who was appreciated by all. He speaks very good French and is certainly an asset to your organization.

Hotel- we ourselves reserved the hotel which was a good choice.
The coach was good and the driver excellent.

Meals- The meal in Suzhou was great, both in terms of quality and quantity and everybody praised it. However the meal in Shanghai was well below average.

Anyway, overall we are quite satisfied with the trip and will not hesitate to recommend your company to our friends and associates.

Meals: Good (Good Overall, but on the last day May 31, we were promised that we will get b'fast on box, but what did we get? only bread with no topping on it, and it was not standard of breakfast on box)

Aspects that we need to improve: Confirmation with Tour Leader for every activity that might effect the comfort of the client or group.
